Dear reader

My name is Flat Ethan. I’m 8 years old I live in Howick.  I have a sister named Ella. She’s 15 years old. We live in Auckland.

I play rugby and I like iPods and computers. My favourite game on the computer is Happy Wheels and Shoot the Apple. On the Ipod it’s Minecraft.

I got to Shelly Park School and I’m in Year 4. My dad works on a construction site and my mum works at Countdown.

My favourite takeaways are from Burger King and my favourite food is pancakes.

I have not always been flat but one day when I was about 6 years old I was riding my bike down a steep hill when a truck turned the corner and drove over me, squashing me flat. Ever since then I’ve been flat and this has meant I can go on all sorts of adventures and I’m looking forward to this one with you.

This is Flat Ethan on my bike I got it when I was 7, and I like my bike because it's fun to ride. I also like riding it at skate and parks.

I have two bikes one is a BMX bike and a normal bike the BMX is to big for me the bike I use has racing cars on it and is red, the BMX bike is  

black and southern star on it and has standing pegs.

Flat Alex went travelling with his family to the Island of Rarotonga

He missed a week of school, but look what he got up to instead! . We had a fantastic time - we did lots of swimming and snorkelling. We also went on a boat trip and was shown how to climb a coconut tree and dance the Rarotongan way. It was nice and warm - approx 30 degrees celsius.

Outside our villa - you have to be careful when standing under a coconut tree…

This is me carrying a plate of CRABS ! We had lots of fun, by having crab races … I was one of the few that wasn't scared of the crabs….

We learnt all the different uses for the coconut - including the way to get coconut oil - which is good for your skin.

April 2013   Last Post from Norway

 Hi everybody, this was my last week. We are going to Oslo on Sunday and will stay with my aunty. We will also go and see the people in the street where l used to live in Norway. I am looking forward to this and Flat Alex can not wait?  Karmøy has heaps of beaches with white sand and we went to see some of them. I have also been to a big swimming pool place and had heaps of fun. Today we had a taste of seafood for dinner  and you all have to go to Norway and try and you will not be disappointed. There is King crab with legs up to 2 meter and they taste so good.

 
 

April 2013 More from Flat Alex in Norway

Hi from us in Norway and all the best to Shelly Park. The time is flying for us and we have been doing heaps. It is still cold, around 0 degrees but it has been sunny all day from 5 o'clock in the morning to 10 o'clock in the evening. From June to August the sun will be up for 24 hours.

 Since last time l have been skiing and been playing in the snow and l made an igloo which is a snow hut.

 I have been looking into the history of the vikings. Karmøy was a big viking kingdom and one of the first viking churches was built here. It is huge and they are still using it full time. Have a nice weekend.

April 2013...Look what Flat Alex got up to this week!

Hi everybody. We have done heaps this week and the photos will tell as well. One day we went down to the see and we did some ice flake sailing, we broke of some big peaces of ice and went sailing on them!
We also went to an old copper mine. The Statue of Liberty in New York has got all the copper from this mine in Visnes. 

Yesterday we went to my uncle's farm which has been in his family for more then 500 years. He has a museum there and we were looking at some old farming stuff and he was telling me how they used to make butter. 

Flat Alex and l had the opportunity to drive the tractor, an ATV, the boat and a snow bike.

 We went snow biking up to a hunting cottage about 1000 meter over the sea level. There was 4 meter with snow and we had to dig the snow away to get inside. It was very nice and Flat Alex want to stay there for a week! Tomorrow we are driving to a skii place and will stay there for some days. We are both looking forward to this!

Flat Alex has taken off on the most amazing adventure...he's flown all the way to Norway

Some places in Norway have heaps of snow and it was minus 6 degrees. Flat Alex had to be inside since he forgot to bring some winter cloths. I went skiing and that was fun.

Hi,today l took Flat Alex to the circus and we both had heaps of fun. In the background you can see the elephant, he was dancing and doing all sort of things!

He said hello to some camels!
