Flat Priyanka went on her first overseas journey - she went to visit Campbellsburg Elementary school in Kentucky, USA

Andy's teacher also sent Room 9 a note:

March 2013
Flat Priyanka's first visit was to her home where she took photos with her favourite people and places...

Flat Priyanka is by the computer because it is my favourite place because I can do lots of stuff on the computer like play brats and SpongeBob square pants games

Flat Priyanka next to the TV because I can watch my favourite show like H20 just add water.

Flat Priyanka with favourite person in the house my mum, because she is the coolest person, she plays with me, helps me with my homework and also gives me good night hugs and kisses.

March 2013 Flat Abbie also started her travels at her favourite places

This is Flat Abbie and I out for my favourite dinner….. Curry.  My favourite curry in the world is butter chicken.  I love dunking my naan bread in the sauce.

Here are Flat Abbie and I hanging out at my Crossfit Gym.  I go to Crossfit once a week and love it because it is fun and I have made lots of friends from other schools.  We do a combination of weightlifting, gymnastics and athletics moves.  My favourite move is the overhead squat because I am really good at it.  But I do enjoy hanging out on the rings.

This is Flat Abbie with my dog Sam.  Sam is a 3 year old Black Lab who likes to eat anything.  She even eats the fruit off the trees at home.  She is lovely and we have great cuddles and walks.

April 2013
Mrs H's travels with Flat Scarlett and Flat Abbie

Hello Room 9
It's almost the end of Term 1 and we are having the most wonderful holiday.
What sights Flat Scarlett and Flat Abbie have seen.

The flight to South Africa was very very long - 3 hours to Sydney; 13 hours to Johannesburg and then another 2 hours to Capetown. We were very tired when we got here but it was warm and sunny and the beaches were just asking us to swim. We did try but it was VERY VERY cold and it didn't take us long to work out why no one else was swimming!

Having spent  a week in Capetown we have now flown up to Durban and are spending time with Mrs H's family preparing for Mrs H's younger sister's wedding this weekend.Tomorrow we will spend the whole day doing the flowers and Mrs H is really looking forward to doing that.

Have a look at some of the sights we've got up to so far!

We loved following our route - nearly there!

yum, breakfast!

We certainly needed our passports and daren't lose them!

Our first morning Capetown - up for an early morning walk.
The view from our flat in Capetown!

We climbed Table Mountain and look at the view!

We walked up but took a revolving cable car down.

The beach looked so good, but the water was icy cold.

Lots of different animals to see here - this is a rock rabbit (called a dassie).

At Boulders Beach we could actually swim with the penguins that were nesting on the beaches!

At Cape Point the baboons were chased away by pop guns, otherwise they'd come and steal food from the cars and picnic bags

This is the end point of Africa: Cape Point.

Look how far away we are!

Eland buck at Cape Point reserve.

Climbing Table Mountain...it was really steep in places!

We hid in Rachel's pocket at the very top as it was so high up!

One of the many colourful lizards that lay basking on the warm rocks.

Taking the gondola down.

Pancakes for breakfast...yum!

A real South African BBQ, called a braai and made with fire and charcoal. No gas bottles used here!

Leaving Capetown, they visited the raptor centre outside of Pietermaritzburg. These birds all eat meat and were massive. We were quite scared!

It's not every day Flats get to go to a wedding.
This was Mrs H's sister's wedding at Lythwood Lodge in Natal. Congratulations Marc and Tory!
